Really, this guy is the most adorable cat ever. We absolutely love him!!!!!

Finn, My Sewing Helper 2-26-10

Here's Finn. He's big enough now to jump up on the sewing table and "help" me work. You can only wish you had such lovable co-workers.

Peacock 2-24-10

On the way to a client's house, I followed this guy for a while. How cute!

Digging in Flower Bed 2-20-19

I'll be so glad when the snow melts and the girls can dig in the garden instead of the flower beds.

Skunk 2-19-10

I was at a client's house. Before I got out of the van, this is what I saw going across the yard. I waited in the van until it was safe to get to the house.

Girls Out on Path 2-19-10

Left the girls out this afternoon.

Pic 1 Of course, Pearl flew into the snow. Had to retrieve her and put her back on the path. (There's a spiritual lesson here. How many times do we get off the path and God has to put us back?)

Pic 2 Red, Harriet and Sophia are quick to come up to the house to find grass.

Pic 3 - I went down to gather eggs. All the girls started up the path.

Pic 4 - Some hens on the path as some went down toward the coop.

Pic 5 - Taken from the dining room window.

Finn 2-19-10

Our Finnie is the most precious cat ever!!!

Everyone should have a cat with a long fluffy tail.

Many times when Baby takes her nap, Finn finds her and naps also.

Finn's New Activity 2-7-10

Finn has discovered something - toilet paper. He seems to think that his purpose in life is to unravel it.

We've had puppies do this, but never a cat. He's one of a kind!!!

Chicken Little Injured 2-6-10

The expression "pecking order" is a real thing. There is an order with birds. Two of the hens, Honey and Chicken Little, are the two that get pecked or bullied.

With the snow confining them to the coop, it's difficult for these two to get away from the bigger, more aggressive birds.

Chicken Little took the beating this weekend with the 20" of snow. I can't tell if she ran into something or got pecked, or both. She has so many head feathers she can't see where she is going, so she does run into things. She got a haircut a while ago, but it's grown back over her eyes.

She is confined to a bathroom now until she heals. The top pic is before cleaning her up. The lower pictures show her new haircut and ointment on her wound.

I need to trim more of her feathers, but at this point she had had enough.

When she gets talking loudly in the bathroom, the cats about go nuts.

Lunch Time 2-6-10

I cleared off their perches at lunch time, when the snow finally stopped.

Seven hens came out of the coop.

I made a huge pot of soup yesterday, and thought they would like some for lunch.

Two were laying eggs.

Last picture is all nine out of the coup to enjoy soup and scratch thrown in the new straw. If you're counting, you night miss white Sophia. She is on the other side of big, fluffy, buff Ellie, who is by the perch.

I would really like a black frizzle chicken to finish up the variety

Hens Disliking Winter 2-6-10

At 7 am, we had 17" of snow. And it's not finished. Ugh!!!

Shoveled a small area for the girls.

Pearl is always the first one out.

Red poked her head out. Then Pearl encouraged her to be brave.

And I brought my breakfast in.

Parke Reading with Finn 2-4-10

Just walked through the family room. Parke is reading with our precious, almost five month old Finn.

Libraries should use this as an incentive for people to read. Doesn't get any cuter.

Enjoying the Grass 2-4-10

Parke and I went to lunch today. We came home and had play time in the yard with the girls. We let them out between snowstorms when they can get to the grass. Do I have the most spoiled hens or what?!

This is six of the nine clucking birds. Left to Right - Phyllis, Chicken Little, Lacey, Harriet, Pearl, Red.
