Finn and Doodah 1-9-10

Doodah likes laying on that level of the condo. Finn thinks it's for him to torment Doodah. This is pretty much a daily occurrence.

Six of Seven Cats 1-8-10

Six of our seven cats - Zippity, Finn, Buttons, Rocky, Doodah, Baby. The only one missing is Rocky's twin sister Snickers.

Pearl's Egg Laying 1-5-10

Pearl is so funny. She does her own thing. Her laying routine the last couple weeks:

There are four nesting boxes inside the coop and two nesting boxes in the kennel. For a few days, we thought Pearl wasn't laying because they weren't in any boxes.

Parke was straightening up some stuff and found 3 frozen eggs around in the straw. I guess Pearl thought it was Easter and we were on an egg hunt. So, we started checking everywhere for her eggs.

Then she started laying in the nesting boxes in the kennel. Easier for us. That lasted a couple days.

Then she started laying in the doghouse in the kennel. And now other chickens are laying there. We have gotten up to four eggs at a time. Today I collected three in the house.

So much for providing nesting boxes.

Special Treats 1-5-10

Took the girls some scraps of food. They love people food.

Always Glad to See Us 1-5-09

Whenever we step out the back door, the chickens come running to this side of the pen. They are always glad to see us. And even more glad if we are bringing them a special treat, as was the case today. As we walk down the path to them, they get quite noisy, welcoming us with their clucking.

Baby and Finn 1-5-09

Baby and Finn spend a lot of time together. They were getting a drink together, then laid down.

Finn is not yet four months old, but he is so big for a kitten. I'm hoping he is a huge cat.

Never thought this would be the last picture I'd take in 2009 or how we'd bring in the new year. Parke is in pain with an abscessed tooth. Have an ice pack on him and just found the vicodin he took in June after hernia surgery. Finn is trying to help him feel better. :)
