Picking up Ragdoll 12-4-09

Here are pics as we left the breeder's house. Two of her other kittens watched us leave.

Newest Member of the Adams Family 12-4-09

Parke and I went to Allentown to visit Parke's cousins. Got caught twice in traffic waiting for Obama to get out of the way. Went to Chalfont to see the house where my in-laws lived from '72-'85, before we moved them to Hershey. Then (drum roll) went to Lansdale to pick up my flame ragdoll kitten!!! WOOHOO!!!! Can't even get a pic cause he hasn't stopped moving since we got home 30 minutes ago. So, here's a video....

Pearl's Double Yolk Egg 11-22-09

Thought I'd make omelets for breakfast. I gathered the eggs so kindly delivered by my chickens. The first egg I cracked open was a double yolk! This is the first double yolk egg from my chickens. Go Pearl! She's awesome. If we had hatched it, does that mean I'd have twins?

Snickers

If I'm at the computer, Snickers is at the computer.

Back View of Ellie 11-21-09

This girl has SO many feathers on her legs. She won't be cold this winter.

Honey 11-21-09

Honey is our sad chicken. She was beat up from the very beginning, even before we got her. If you remember, her neck feathers have been pulled out several times. I've isolated her to let her heal. The right side of her neck won't even grow feathers anymore. I've experimented with living quarters, and I think I have the best solution now. Ellie and Lacey are in their own area (since they tend to pick on Honey), while Red, Harriet, Sophia, Pearl, Phyllis and Honey have the coop and play pen. Seems to be working for Honey. I don't expect her to be a people chicken. She's scared of everything. But I will give her a good home.
